A dense upright, versatile shrub with small wedge-shaped, serrated leaves and soft, rust brown new growth. Large cylindrical wine-red flower spikes are both spectacular and long lasting appearing during Winter and early Spring. Followed by attractive russet coloured cones.

Performs best in an open, sunny position with well drained soil. Tolerates alkaline soils, drought, coastal conditions, wind and light frost.
